Google Reader connection

I can't connect to google reader, it used to work fine but for the last week or so it will not connect.

Has anyone had a problem with this or any suggestions to fix this.

I tried retyping my password  and user name many times. I also re-installed beyondpod ( the latest version).

It appears that Gioogle has changed the API BeyondPod uses to log in.  This will require fixing it on the beyondPod side. I will try to fix it when I find some time. In a mean time if there is somebody that would like to make changes I can prvide them with the information on how to do it.

I just discovered this great tool and really liked the interface. it would be really great if someone could fix this. without the google reader sync it's useless for me :(

Is it an easy fix?

The fix is relatively simple - a GET http request has to be converted to a POST http request.  If somebody is interested implementing it, I can provide more information.

I am going to probalby have some time in a couple of weeks to look into this problem.  If it is as simple as stated I'd be willing to give it a try.  I'm very familar with Java and have experience with C and C++ but no WinMo experience.  I'm setting up the SVN repo now.  Can you point me to the location and let me see what I can find?

There is already a patch for that. Take a look at:

Hi Guys,

as i don't have the ability to compile the source - is there already a .cab File available with the latest patch re. Google Reader connect?

Also .dll or .exe or whatever file has changed would be fine.

If anybody has such, can you maybe send it to me or make it available somewhere?

I'd really like to try out Beyond Pod, but without Google Reader Sync it doesn't make much sense for me...

Thanks very much for your kind support!

Best regards,

I too am pleading for a fix to this that a non-expert can apply.  I don't know how else to add new feeds.

I am currently working on a new release that should address the Google Reader problem and some of the WM 6.5 issues.  I hope to release a new build in the next week.

Hi Stefan, I really like this app and used it with my previous phone.  Google Reader is essential to me so could really do with the new version.

I would add the patch myself, but I'm having trouble downloading the source code.  I've tried it on a number of PC's, some of which won't download the zip file.  On others I can download it, but it is corrupted.  If you don't have time to update the app could you please have a look at the source code download.

Many thanks for you help.

Anyone have any updates to this?  Stefan mentions above that a new build would come in a couple of weeks - that was over a month ago... :-(

I am starting to lose hope, and may abandon this app - also lacking is the ability to use bluetooth controls - I hope he can get that working too...

Like everyone else, I cannot sync with google reader. Does anyone have a version that works? It is getting fixed? If this is not getting fixed, can anyone recommend another software that will do this?

I used google reader and exported my feeds, then used Beyondpod to import them. This won't help with syncing, but it will get you started if you already have a lot of feeds set up in google reader, until the Beyondpod update come out. I have tried a lot of readers, and in my opinion, barring the google reader sync, it is the best I have found.

Hi, I built the dll file with the patch.

Please replace the Feedcore.dll in the "Beyondpod" Folder with the file downloaded, and try syncing with GoogleReader!

Awesome news that someone stepped up and got this working again.  This was one of the things that really wanted me to move away from BP.

NICE JOB!  Works like a champ!

Thanks for the tip.  At least now there is some extra time to react.
